SculpSure

SculpSure is the world’s first FDA-cleared laser treatment for non-invasive lipolysis of the flanks and abdomen.  It’s a state-of-the-art, controlled light-based technology, ideal for patients looking to get rid of stubborn fat in areas like the abdomen and flanks. The procedure takes 25 minutes, is minimally uncomfortable, and requires no downtime. Clinical trials show an average of 24% reduction in fat volume after a single treatment.

1. Targeted laser energy heats fat cells under the skin, while the surface of the skin is cooled to protect it.
2.  SculpSure raises the temperature of fat cells, damaging their structural integrity.
3. Over the next several months, the damaged fat cells are broken down and eliminated by the body.
4. The targeted fat cells are permanently removed. Results can be seen as quickly as six weeks with optimal results typically seen at 12 weeks.

When the treatment starts, initially a cooling sensation may be felt. This helps keep the skin comfortable during treatment. The cooling will be on the entire treatment, while the laser cycles on and off, raising the temperature of the fat cells. Most patients feel a deep warmth and/ or tingling sensation intermittently throughout the treatment which is generally well-tolerated.

There are some pockets of fat that are too stubborn and resistant to traditional weight loss methods like diet and exercise. Whether it is because the unwanted fat cells are in a hard-to-work area or simply because of age or genetics, many people desire a method of attaining their ideal curve without the need for invasive procedures like tummy tucks or even liposuction. In those cases, Sculpsure is one of the best and most reliable methods of achieving those aesthetic goals.

While Sculpsure is a good option for people of any skin tone or type, it is recommended that the potential patient is within 10 to 20 pounds of their ideal weight. For some people, this means achieving a BMI of around 30 (keep in mind that BMI is not a great indicator of body fat ratio for every person, however).

The best patients also have realistic expectations about what the procedure can achieve and have done ample amounts of research to understand the treatment. Otherwise, you could be setting yourself up for disappointment in what would normally be considered a successful treatment.

Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is essential to keeping your results as dramatic as possible, and other life events like pregnancy could impact the integrity of your treatment. In some cases, we may recommend waiting until you are certain you will not become pregnant to maximize the longevity of your results.

Many patients start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to evacuate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks.

Treated fat cells are permanently destroyed during the treatment and will not regenerate. However, like all aesthetic body contouring, results are best maintained with a healthy diet and a consistent exercise routine, allowing for maintenance of a stable weight.

There is no downtime with SculpSure, so treatment can take place during the lunch hour with immediate return to work. Patients can immediately return to all normal activities with no downtime.

According to a report from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the typical cost of nonsurgical fat reduction was $1,458 in 2016. While this includes more treatments than just Sculpsure, it will give you a general idea of what kind of financial investment you can expect. Keep in mind, however, that your final cost will be highly dependent on factors like the level of correction being made, how many procedures you are having performed, your geographic location and even the combination of treatments you are having done to meet your aesthetic goals.
